Tony Gutteridge says the moment he met the doctor who saved his life, is a moment he’ll ‘treasure for ever’. The 64 year old from Wigmore in Medway was involved in a near fatal collision on the A20 near Leeds Castle in Kent, on 26th of February 2009.
For 39 year old Canterbury man, Chris Stemp, life is certainly for living. The butcher, who lives in Sturry says “I must have done something right to have survived two near death situations” – the second incident needed the medical intervention of the HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) crew.
The day of September 19th is a date that has been forever etched in the minds of a Kent family who, not once but twice, in as many years, gave thanks to the work carried out by the HEMS team of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Service.
